Dalam konstruksi atau perbaikan gedung, scaffolding digunakan untuk menyangga manusia dan material. Scaffolding merupakan suatu struktur sementara.
Umumnya Scaffolding diperlukan apabila suatu konstruksi yang dikerjakan berada di ketinggian 1.8 m hingga 2 m.
1 set scaffolding tediri dari:
- 2 pcs main frame (1.2 m x 1.7 m)
- 2 pcs cross brace (P220)
- 4 pcs joint pin

Tinggi pelat 3 m, jadi diperlukan main frame 1.7 m + ladder frame 0.9 m = 2.6 m.
Sisa 0.4 m diambil dari jack base.
Jumlah main frame yang dibutuhkan:
= (luas area bawah bekisting / luas 1 set scaffolding)
= (8 *4)/ (1.8 * 1.2 )
= 32 / 2.16
= 14.81 set » 15 set scaffolding
Jadi kebutuhan scaffolding adalah 15 set, yang tediri dari:
- 15 * 2 pcs main frame (1.2 m x 1.7 m) = 30 pcs
- 15 * 2 pcs cross brace (P220) = 30 pcs
- 15 * 4 pcs joint pin = 60 pcs
- 15 * 2 pcs ladder frame = 30 pcs
- 15 * 4 pcs jack base = 60 pcs
- U - head = 8/1.2 » 6.67 » 7 * 2 = 14 pcs * 2 = 28 pcs (sisi 8 m')
- U - head = 4/1.2 » 3.33 » 4 * 2 = 8 pcs * 3 = 24 pcs (sisi 4 m')
